Call for Workshop Proposals for 2007 Baha’i Conference on Social and Economic Development in Orlando
2007 Baha’i Conference on Social and Economic Development, Thursday evening, December 20 thru Sunday noon, December 23, 2007.
You are warmly invited to submit proposals for workshop presentations at the 2007 Baha’i Conference on Social and Economic Development in Orlando,Florida:
A. — Hour-and-a-quarter or two-and-a-quarter hour workshop sessions: Challenging and interactive sessions that address the development process and/or development needs and build on the Conference theme of “Igniting the Will to Serve Humanity”. Of particular interest will be sessions that showcase social or economic development projects at whatever stage of organic development they have reached, especially including small projects and/or those that started very small by meeting a grass-roots need. Of particular interest to attendees will be the need(s) or problem(s) being addressed by the project, project history, challenges, development steps taken (especially the applicable Baha’i principles and how they were applied), lessons learned and future vision. Project initiatives involving children and youth will be of special interest.
B. — Hour-and-a-quarter or two-and-a-quarter hour mentoring sessions for youth and young adults: Highly participative career planning and mentoring sessions designed to provide information to Baha’i young people regarding career (and/or service) choices and opportunities to apply Baha’i principles and serve humanity in various career fields (i.e., education, health, social sciences, agriculture, physical sciences and technology, the environment, justice, economics/business, the arts, etc.). Proposals meeting this deadline will have the best chance of acceptance in the 2007 program. However, proposals are welcome beyond this deadline and will also be carefully considered.
